Description
This rare little jewel is a boxed set souvenir from the 1998 National Paper Doll convention held in Los Angeles, California. The theme was "The Last Time I saw Paris". Who better to represent Paris then Josephine Baker, a woman ahead of her time. Bruce Patrick Jones is the artist and added a wonderful biography of the dancer that was very interesting. This set has one portrait doll with tabs cut into it so the 7 costume overlays can slide over the doll, making it like a photograph. There was a lot of precision cutting to make everything fit and work together. I do wish there had been an easel back to the doll portrait to stand it. The box measures 7" x 5" x 1.5" and is signed by the artist. The entire set is shown and comes with the original tissue between each of the overlays. The artwork is just gorgeous and has such very vivid colors. This is a wonderful souvenir to add to any collection!!!I've bought my huge collection from estate sales and from other collectors on here. I don't know the previous storage history. My collection is stored in a smoke/pet free area in my home, with a dehumidifier running 24/7. People did smoke back then, I have a poor sense of smell at my age, and I don't know if that lingers. I try to list all flaws with the paper dolls that I sell.
I only ship to the USA. I usually take orders to the post office on Tuesday and Friday mornings by 10 AM eastern time.
