Description
This beautiful creamer and sugar set was retailed by Sanborns, Mexico City c. 1950s or so. Of heavy gauge .925 purity (sterling) silver, the matched set includes a creamer and a lidded sugar bowl in an elegant lobed melon like shape on reticulated scroll bases. I switched a few of the photos to black and white (rather) than color to help you view without so many reflections. Made in Mexico in the Scandinavian style made fashionable early to mid 20th century by Georg Jensen, Denmark.
SIZE: Sugar is approximately 5" wide, 4 3/8" tall and weighs about 269.8 grams. Creamer is about 4 1/2" wide, 3 1/2" tall and weighs about 209.9. Total weight approximately 479.7 grams or 15.425 troy ounces.
MAKER: Sanborns post 1931 owl mark with post 1948 Eagle 22 mark.
CONDITION: Vintage item. There is a small area on the creamer were I can feel a very slight impression and see a tiny pinhead size dent. Hard to see, but I tried to capture it in the last photo. It will give you a sense of the location, but you can't really see much.  It is very minor and does not in anyway take away from the beauty of the set.
