Mermaids Creamer Sugar Bowl Set Schulz Fischer Sterling Silver 1880
Antique American sterling silver set of creamer and sugar bowl, decorated with embossed scenic border, featuring mermaids. Depictions are accented with tiny floral and beaded rims. Creamer's handle is decorated with figural foliate elements. Sugar bowl has one moving twist handle, interlacing in the middle. Interior has remains of gilding. Made by Schulz & Fischer, San Francisco, CA 1880. Great Seal Mark.
This spectacular set measures: sugar bowl is 4 1/8" in diameter and 2 7/8" tall, creamer is 3" in top diameter, 3 3/8" in base diameter, 4 1/2" from spout to handle and 3 1/4" tall. Total weight is 296.7 grams or 9.57 ozs Troy.
The soft, warm, original finish is present, with no buffing or machine polishing.
The excellent original condition and clear, crisp detail, with no monograms, removals, repairs or alterations, make this an especially attractive offering.
