    Description

    1941 VERY RARE PAPER DOLL SET "RAGGEDY ANN CUTOUT DOLLS WITH DRESSES" UNCUT CONDITION!
    I am still working on liquidating my late sisters collections and many of you who have been following my listings and I wish to THANK YOU, ALL!  Since I am not a collector I do have to apologize for my lack of knowledge on this subject.  If I have grossly misstated anything in the description it is fine if you want to correct me.  I am now working on a 'new' bundle of paper dolls and other items that I just took into my possession, have fun exploring them right along with me!!
    Meet RAGGEDY ANN AND HER FRIENDS: MARCELLA, BETTY, AND JANE.  This is set number 4106.   The paper dolls in the set were originally in a set created by McLoughlin, but the clothing for the dolls are new (1941) in this set with the set being made by Milton Bradley.  The McLoughlin set was issued in 1940 and was also created by Johnny Gruelle.  Johnny Gruelle was the creator of Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy, and
    was an American artist, political cartoonist, children's book and comics author, illustrator, and storyteller
    .
    The legend I had heard was the Raggedy Ann doll stories were created and told by Gruelle to his dying daughter Marcella.  The doll was said to originally have been made by Gruelle's mother and then adapted by Gruelle to fit stories about the dolls that were then written and patented by Johnny Gruelle in 1915.  This Paper Doll set of RAGGEDY ANN CUTOUT DOLLS includes 4 paper dolls with Raggedy Ann and the Marcella doll being the largest dolls in the set.  The Marcella paper doll is 12 inches tall while Raggedy Ann is 10 1/4 inches tall.  Betty and Jane are 6 3/4 inches tall.  I see some very minor crease lines on the wrist and side of leg and arm on the Betty doll, light crease line on the leg of Marcella.  The dolls all come with their own cardboard stand.  ALL OF THE CLOTHING FOR THE DOLLS ARE STILL IN UNCUT CONDITION!!  The original box too is in super condition with only some minor flaws.   I simply LOVE the Graphics on the box lid with the other toys including the small Fairy characters.
